Imagery by Logan Hunt

1) Fire spurred out of the sloped peak in a hot, red rush. Ash cloaked the ground and filled the nostrils of the coughing on-lookers. Boulders whirled to the grey, gloomy ground, exploding in a shower of rubble. Hours later, a once lava-filled valley was once again cold, dark and sad.

2) Dark clouds rolled in on a howling, raging wind. Trees bowed down to a blunt, growling force; as if trapped and enslaved by their whip-wielding master. A few, scattered streaks of light, followed by a roar of thunder sent the woman to abandon her gardening clips and her messy hedge to scurry inside.

3) The gorilla's light, furry feet danced mockingly on the shrub-littered ground, its hand crazily addicted to a small twig. Ferns were spread out around it; tall, sheltering trees smiled warmly at the laughing gorilla. With a playful scream, it tumbled gently to the ground, and into the comforting bed of soft, green leaves.

4) The world span around him, blurring into a kaleidoscope of a chaotic array of colours. His eyes stared keenly ahead; only seeing the twists and turns of the snaking metal road; the beat of his steps brushing briefly across the dusty ground. The athlete's shining, sweaty face glazed in the intense heat. The athlete swallowed hard. One more corner...

5) The centipede of carriages glided across the rusty track, with occasional trips and squeaks of complaint. The head billowed with thick steam, and screamed a coarse scream of warning as it twisted through green, serene meadows, ripping savagely the cloak of tranquillity that protected the rolling hills. Cattle rose their heads in annoyance at the unwanted intrusion and cast a dis-approving stare as the centipede passed by.
